Featuring Three New Models, Four Limited Editions and Improvements Across the Board
Harley-Davidson has unleashed a pack of new motorcycles for 2011, featuring three new models and other limited editions and upgraded standard models sure to please fans of varying riding styles and personal taste.
From the bold and daring XR1200X to the ultra-luxurious and dynamic Road Glide Ultra touring machine, and the stylish and agile SuperLow in-between; whatever it takes to get you on the road, Harley-Davidson has a bike to take you there.
Whether you carve your own path or follow convention, Harley can put you aboard an urban brawler or a highway hauler that reflects your riding personality.
For longriders, the latest addition to the Touring platform is the Road Glide Ultra, to put some comfortable distance between stops. Powered down the highway by a Twin Cam 103™ engine, it’s outfitted for the long haul with a frame-mounted fairing meshing with a King Tour-Pak® luggage carrier, comfier reconfigured seat, cruise control, a four-speaker, 80-watt Harman/Kardon Advanced Audio System, ABS (anti-lock braking system), and all protected by a Harley-Davidson Smart Security System.
New for the American market is the XR1200X Sportster tweaked for the sporting set with high-performance componentry and sharper handling characteristics. Propelled by a powerful high-compression 1200cc Evolution® V-Twin engine, the XR hugs the asphalt on adjustable front and rear suspension, and is brought to a quick halt with floating brake rotors.
The all-new SuperLow model has a new front end geometry that combines with new wheels, tires and a reshaped seat and handlebars for improved comfort and control to bolster confidence in new riders and enhance the ride for those with more experience. Comfort and maneuverability are the key concepts, powering the responsive V-Twin Sportster through the corners and smoothly down the open road ahead.
In addition to introducing the three new models and announcing other improvements across all model lines, the big news from the Harley-Davidson Custom Vehicle Operations (CVO™) is the creation of four premium, limited-production, high-end factory customs: CVO Street Glide, CVO Softail Convertible, CVO Ultra Classic® Electra Glide®, and the CVO team also subjected the new Road Glide Ultra to the royal treatment featuring a Road Tech® zumo® 660 GPS navigation system, upgraded Harman/Kardon Advanced Audio system with BOOM! Bagger speakers and an 8GB iPod® nano® and dock, and a two-up suspended touring seat with dual heat controls.
Particularly notable is the custom fuel-injected Screamin' Eagle Twin Cam 110 V-Twin, the largest-displacement engine ever produced by Harley-Davidson. Production will be limited to 3,000 units. With the big bore motors, loads of chrome, limited edition paint and limited quantities, the CVOs cater to riders who won’t settle for anything less than the best.
